This February, the Salt Space is excited to present work from The African American Art Collective in an exhibition that celebrates Black History Month by featuring the work of young African American artists within our community. This exhibition includes a diverse collection of works that feature a rich vision of a young generation. The Salt Space has collaborated with artist Karston “Skinny” Tannis to curate this exhibition. A Brooklyn native, Karston was introduced to photography and film through his active participation in the New York City BMX scene as a way to document the adventure. Karston has since expanded his range of subjects while maintaining a rapid-fire “shoot now decide later” aesthetics to maximize the captured energy of his subjects.
