Roil by Jamey GrimesExploring the serenity and turbulence of nature.

Open Gallery Hours: Tues – Thurs March 22 – May 6 | 11am – 5pm Making his New York debut, Jamey Grimes brings a welcomed view of nature's brilliance into a city full of man-made wonders with his new exhibit: Roil. Through his imaginative and creative use of materials, Jamey calls forward the magnificence and mystery of nature by transporting viewers into his metaphorical wonderland.Roil is a humble invitation to experience Jamey’s fascination with the enchantment of nature. This exhibit is designed to encourage movement which allows infinite perspectives on each piece. The Salt Space opens its doors to mountain men and city folk alike, proudly displaying the work of this poetic, Alabamian artist. Roil is on display from March 18th through May 6 in our main gallery. Come spend an afternoon in the outdoors–indoors. Jamey Grimes is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he is a full-time instructor in the Department of Art & Art History at the University of Alabama. He also teaches drawing courses through Auburn University’s Alabama Prison Arts + Education Project. Jamey has shown his artwork extensively, including exhibitions at the Dunedin Fine Art Center (FL), the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (DE), the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (MI), Sculpture Key West (FL), and the Rymer Gallery (TN).
